  CARHOF For DUMMIES


CARHOF collects interest on real estate trust accounts and donates the money to organizations that provide housing and related services for moderate to low-income Coloradoans. 70% of the revenue collected goes back to the community from which it was generated, and each local association of REALTORS determines which organizations to fund in their community.


Contact local Chairperson in your community for deadline to submit grant application.

Local CARHOF Committee reviews applications and makes recommendations for funding to their local association of REALTORS Board of Directors.

Local Board of Directors approves applications.
Grant applications are forwarded to CARHOF where they are reviewed for completeness and compliance with grant guidelines. The deadline for local associations to submit grant applications to CARHOF is March 1 and August 1.

Grants are submitted to CARHOF  Board of Directors for final approval.
CARHOF notifies nonprofit organizations about funding their grant requests.

Grant recipient signs a grant contract and returns it to CARHOF.

CARHOF receives grant contract from grant recipient and forwards check to local association of REALTORS.
Local Association of REALTORS presents check to nonprofit organization.

20% of the interest collected goes into a state fund for disaster relief and special statewide projects. Organizations will be notified directly of the availability of state funds and grant applications are sent directly to CARHOF.
